About
I learned that you should feel when writing, not like Lord Byron on a mountain top, but like a child stringing beads in kindergarten —happy, absorbed and quietly putting one bead on after another. (Brenda Ueland)
JINA C. GUAN has been scrawling poems, scribbling stories, and doodling comics for as long as she can remember. She writes speculative fiction, primarily fantasy influenced by her love of science. This usually comes through in the form of fantastical ecosystems, exploratory chemistry and biology, or even silly Easter eggs like making certain proper nouns spell out CHNOPS (the basic elements of life). All of her characters should be assumed bi unless otherwise stated.
Her obsession with em dashes and Emphatic Capitalization comes from her love of Emily Dickinson, her stylistic icon. In her non-writerly life, Jina has a degree in biology and works in research studying ecosystem models of the ocean.
